COMMITTEE NEWS

Get involved and volunteer in your local community whilst seeing the enrichment of the areas young people. Should you wish to volunteer please do contact us via one of the methods below. A passionate group of volunteers help support our Group. The list looks long however our meetings are always enjoyable. Typically once a term at our 100 year old Hall where we meet and discuss how we can better help our existing and help new children and youth learn the richness of scouting.

Role of the Committee

No Scouting experience required.  The committee is responsible to the Group Leader for supporting the delivery of Scouting in the Group, and the management of Group funding, property and equipment.

The Committee will usually meet 4-5 times a year to discuss matters relevant to running of the Group, fundraising and to maintaining the property and equipment. We have incredible leaders for each of our sections - they are all there week after week encouraging children enjoy some outdoor fun and adventure in term time. To acknowledge this passion to share scouting with our children, parent involvement is absolutely vital and necessary as it makes sure that we all:

  • share the load of the volunteer Leaders

  • the Group continues to stay financially stable

  • that parents are happy with the Leaders and activities

  • the building and equipment is properly maintained

  • assistance with the recruitment of youth members, Leaders, committee.

It is also a great way for parents to get involved, learn the world of Scouting and share this with their children.
