MP Trent Zimmerman hands out badges - November 2021
Mr Zimmerman came to our hall to inspect some work that had been carried out with a Federal Grant and gave our Cubs, Joeys and Scouts some badges that they had been working hard on During Lockdown. The Cubs and Scouts also got to show him the progress that they have been making with their AUSLAN by spelling their names. It was wonderful to get everyone together at the hall after zoom meetings during lockdown.
Royal Gurkha visit - May 2015
Theme of the night was knots and ropes and to learn something different from a group of visitors from Nepal, being three Gurkha soldiers.
2015 has been a significant time for Hunters Hill Scout Group who celebrated their Centenary and this year also marks the 200th year of service to the British Crown by the Gurkhas, so it was a perfect opportunity for the groups to come together to share resources and stories.
Gurkhas have some similar values to Scouting : Elite soldiers with a physical and mental commitment to excellence, they tend to get the ‘difficult’ jobs and yet are warm and hospitable.

100 Year Anniversary - March 2015
1st Hunters Hill Scouts celebrated our centenary on 14 March 2015. The actual formation date being 3 days after on the 17th March. Windeyer Hall came about when William (Bill) Archibald Windeyer met Baden-Powell, the recognised founder of scouting worldwide, on a cruise to England. On his return and in his position of Mayor he said '...it was decided to take steps to organise the Boy Scout Movement throughout the Municipality as I am of the opinion that there is no movement that is likely to do greater good..' Here is to the next 100 years.
Some publicity in the TWT Weekly Times:

17 March 2015 - Hunters Hill Scouts celebrate 100 years - front page story.
Boat Shed Renovations - November 2014
The boat shed brings great enjoyment to all cubs and scouts who attend Hunters Hill Scouts. In 2014 renovations were completed on the boat shed. The new floor was laid, the roof repaired and the exterior repaired and painted and it looks fantastic. Thanks to support from Hunters Hill Council via a grant for the new door, the paint was donated by Paint Place, 375 Victoria Road Gladesville, (02) 9816 4343 and corporate volunteers from Pfizer painted the exterior. The Scout Group raised the rest of the money to complete the job this year.
The Scouts now hold meetings through the summer at the boatshed.
